Today I am filled with a renewed thankfulness for being at Keewaydin. In the past, when I came back from vacation, I felt a gradual “coming down” from the high of being on an adventure. Now, when I come home, Keewaydin is my venture, building something beautiful here, watching every plant and project grow is inspirational and continually thought provoking. As I work around the farm today, my eyes are opened to all the new life that has sprung forth in one week. The seeds we frantically planted before we left are popping up in neat rows. New flowers are blossoming. Stems are bowing with the heaviness of fruit. I am alone most of the day, basking in the cool breeze, reveling in the silence, and enjoying the return to farm life.
