Dear Farm Journal,
Today we learned the lesson of: YOU DON’T BRING BANANAS ON A BOAT. Our friend, Ben, tried to tell us last year that you do not bring bananas on boats, period. They are bad luck and something bad always happens if you do. It is one of the oldest fisherman superstitions out there. I have no idea why it is so, but it is so. Don’t challenge it. When Ben saw that Rufus had bananas on board, he was like, are you serious? Of course we ran into trouble. I won’t go into details, but we ended up having to throw the bananas overboard. Only then did we float safely along the shore and catch some fish, but nothing like yesterday. We came off the water early and headed out for the long drive home, still thankful that we had our limit in fillets.
