Dear Farm Journal,
The bloom of the mock orange tree only lasts for a week or two, but she is the glory of the farmstead at her pinnacle. I take in faint whiffs of her candied fragrance from afar and indulge in immersion at her base. She beguiles bumble bees and shelters songbirds with her petal-adorned branches and charms us all into believing she’ll bear a canopy of citrus orbs. We inhale her eminence with the reverie and objectivity we must carry in loving a life force which unravels so swiftly.
