What feels more like fall than harvesting pumpkins? Harvesting pumpkins and hazelnuts in the crisp afternoon sunshine. Don’t worry, we won’t be drinking any pumpkin spice lattes. Rufus comments that this is the perfect working weather, but then when the sun dips low, right before we call it a day, we both get a little chilly. Our pumpkin and hazelnut rows seem endless compared to our homestead garden plots. They stretch across parts of the farm we don’t spend much time on, and it’s swell to appreciate the farm from a new vantage point in space and time.
