Dear Farm Journal,
Today is the seventh CSA pack out of the eight week summer season and I can tell we’re starting to feel the creeping fatigue of summer burn out (except for the interns who still seem relatively fresh). We fall into the familiar rhythm of harvest and packing, and by early afternoon we roll 205 shares into the cooler. Once again, we finish with time to spare (pretty much unheard of in prior seasons) and are able to tackle another overdue farm project; pressure washing and painting the barn, inside and out. Georgia and Elaina are well versed in painting from working on other service projects, and they make quick work of the outside of the barn. Their light hearted energy is just the ember I need to keep the farm fires burning. One more week to go, and then…to the Boundary Waters!
