Dear Farm Journal,

The panoramic perspective I’ve gained from working with the interns is priceless. Their presence in this place has moved me to perceive life and farming from a multitude of angels. My mind has stretched from the countryside to the city, from 35 to 19, from farmer to mentor, and from question to question. Our daily conversations afford us the opportunity to share our philosophies, talk about how to find happiness, and expound on our dreams. Rufus and I both feel even more certain that we want to expand our adventure to include on farm education and recreation. Our heart is to share what inspires us here in hopes that it will also inspire others. These young ladies have opened a door, and I’m certainly going to miss them when they “go back to the real world” on Friday.
