Dear Farm Journal,
The sour cherry tree is coming into its splendor, dripping with bright red gumballs. Every time I pass by, I pluck off a handful and pop them in my mouth. I spit out the pits and pucker my mouth as the tartness tightens my lips. Since we’ll have extra help this week, we’re thinking of harvesting the sour cherries along with the mulberries swinging from the treetops around the farm. If we can pull it off, they’ll be a tasty little addition to this week’s CSA box.
