Ice melts into steady streams and signs of spring abound. We spend the morning in the warm glow of the greenhouse, where we spot our first transplants popping from the potting soil. I give a child-like squeal of glee… plant magic gets me every time. We work on building walls to close in the nursery instead of pulling plastic over hoops on the tables. Then in the afternoon, we hike to the sugar bush to stoke the stove, check on the boil, and prepare for our second Driftless Curiosity workshop tomorrow. Taste testing the “sap tea” gives me another jolt of candid satisfaction. Sweet simplicities from the soil make my day.
