The transformation has begun. Rufus and I have been talking about remodeling the old milk house into a certified kitchen space for years, and today we started construction. It sure is nice to have family lend a hand for big projects like this, and we’re beyond thankful for John and Cassie being willing to jump into the mix with us. We “redistributed” all the junk that had collected in the unused space across the farm and then put John on the classic “tall guy” task, insulating the ceiling. In the meantime, Cassie and I built a legit cooler wall out of repurposed and farm-milled lumber. At the end of the day, we stood back to look at the space and felt pretty impressed with ourselves. We’ve got a ways to go, but wow, 8 hands are so much better than 4 when it comes to carpentry!
