This wind is relentless. The sound of the greenhouse plastic beating against the frame like a nonstop drumroll wears on my nerves. I look up at a loose piece of plastic at the peak of G1 and wonder how long it will hold on. On Thursday, we had agents from NRCS out to walk the land because we would like to apply for the Conservation Stewardship Program as well as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program. It was exceptionally windy, about like today. As we took shelter behind a round bale, one of the NRCS agents said he couldn’t believe our greenhouses were still standing. Little does he know, we’ve spent the last two years repairing and rebuilding them. I’m starting to think Rufus’s concept for an in-ground greenhouse isn’t such a bad idea.~Joy
