It’s a happy day when you get a book in the mail. Who’s ready for spring foraging? A friend suggested Samuel Thayer’s, The Forager’s Harvest, as one of her go-to wildcrafting guides and now it’s at my doorstep. During my preliminary flip through, I can’t stop wondering why they don’t teach this stuff in schools. I feel like there’s some pretty pertinent information here. It’s one of those, “the more you know, the more you realize you’re not even close to knowing” learning curves. I’m studying for Driftless Curiosity’s upcoming workshop on foraging for spring edibles at the end of April. I’ve learned so much already and can’t wait to share the secrets of the plants we walk by everyday.
