Seeding is one of my favorite jobs on the farm. It’s restful in comparison to the majority of laborious garden chores, even meditative. Not today. Since we built the seedling enclosure, the seeding table has been moved to the corner, aka the drip zone. I pour seeds onto the vacuum seeder and … drip, drip, drip… now all the seeds are wet, stuck to each other and the tray. Shit. I try to move around to avoid it, but it appears to be unavoidable. After I’d sufficiently cursed the condensation, the stupid relocation of the table, and myself, I reverted back to planting by hand. We did not think this through.
