I pulled my first weeds of the season this afternoon. At ground level, I identified which little sprouts didn’t belong. Greenhouse #1 is planted in the much awaited spring greens: salad mix, tatsoi, and mizuna. These mini salad ingredients will go into the CSA boxes starting April 14th. With less than a month before the spring shares start, we’re making sure these babies are well taken care of. This means not only beating back the weeds, but “taking care” of some rabbits as well. Rufus has been stalking around the farm at dusk “identifying” which little salad munchers don’t belong.
