I snuggle into the coziness of a simple holiday break with a new book and baked goods. I’ve finished “Prodigal Summer” and am on to the next Barbara Kingsolver book on my list, “The Lacuna”. My mind’s eye drifts on a southern current to the warm beaches of Mexico and I’m pulled into the pages as Will is drawn into the lacuna, sucked into another world. In the evening, we make walnut ginger cookies. They fill the house with spiced aromas that call up Christmas memories; once again tugging me into a warmer world.
