With the CSA behind us, Rufus and I turn our attention to a building project, a decade in the making. The sauna has been a part of winter project conversations every year, but this year, I feel like it’s within reach. Having a sawmill on the farm has really helped bring our carpentry plans from blueprint to building. As we stack materials, lumber, windows, and doors, I can start to see it coming together. We clear the overgrown brush and clean up old insulation, broken glass, and decaying cedar blocks to reveal the foundation. We take measurements and make the first cuts to frame in the front wall. Will this be the year?
