This afternoon, Rufus and I set out for the wooded acreage to select our Christmas tree. Most of our pines are rather large and Rufus didn’t want to kill an entire tree, so he scaled and topped a sizable white pine. We slid the fallen tip into the back of the Honda and jostled over the field roads back to the farm, where we needed to do a bit more trimming before bringing it in the house. It was a typical Grizwald Christmas experience. The tree even fell over once it was fully decorated, setting us back to using the remaining plastic ornaments. Just to be on the safe side, Rufus fashioned an anchor and secured the tree in an upright position. Giz still doesn’t trust it and chose to sleep under the table for the evening.
