Saturday was a celebratory day for so many reasons. The future just seems a little brighter and my hopes are a little higher for micro and macro shifts toward positive change. Two monumental conversations moved our vision forward this week. Thursday we spoke with the nonprofit lawyer and we’re moving forward with the incorporation of Home Wind Learning Center and plan to begin programming in 2021. Friday we met with the women of Ope Publishing and artist, Pete Hodapp, to discuss the design of the “Dear Farm Journal” publication to tell our story of rural culture. I’m overflowing with a combination of elation and tender gratitude for these doors swinging open before me, and I can’t wait to get to work, but tonight, we steal one more float from the Kickapoo under cover of darkness, flowing softly under the Driftless stars in celebration.
