Dear Farm Journal,
Beyond the realm of science, what is it, exactly, that causes a seed to sprout? A combination of essential elements and time wake up the seed. How does it know to reach skyward for sunlight in the darkness and waterward to quench a root thirst? Who instructs within the seed pod on what nutrients to draw inward or how to conduct plantlife beyond breaking the surface? I imagine it is the same knowing which reverberates the beating of our hearts, the same instruction which leads light through the corridors of the inner eye. The synchronized magic of the universe is all there, within the sprouting of the seed.
