Dear Farm Journal,
The sun awakened the sort of springtide day songwriters sing love songs about. We soaked in the sun as we prepared pasture, cleaning up debris and fencing. One section will be for the oncoming Guernseys, and the other, for a handful of pigs (less than 10, so technically 2 handfuls). Rufus is teaching me more about the different types of fencing animals need as well as the diverse wrangling strategies for when they get out. A cow, you might be able to get back in with 1 person. Pigs…are faster, do not corral well, and your best bet is to lure them back with grain. Those are the sort of days farmers cuss about.
