Dear Farm Journal,
Today we had our 6th semi load of compost delivered. We just can’t get enough of this gorgeous black dirt! Our original plan was to purchase one, maybe two loads. However, we’ve had such a steady flow of CSA sign ups, that we’ve been able to invest in this game changing soil. Plus, we’ll need to build more garden beds to produce enough vegetables for our larger summer share this year. In the past, we have cut off summer sign ups around 75, but with healthier (weed free) soil and a few extra hands around the farm, we’ll be able to serve closer to 150 families this summer. It is genuinely energizing to witness what happens when folks support small local farmers, and I’m continually grateful.
