Dear Farm Journal,
Between passing showers, Rufus and I worked on repairing Greenhouse 3. The outside layer of plastic has been tattered by ridge-top winds and flapping against itself for quite some time. Back up on the ladders, we unwiggled wire, and removed strips of stretched remains. Rufus straightened and re-secured the frame in precarious positions that made my heart knock against my ribs a bit. Speaking of cardiac episodes, I also gripped my hand around some exposed wire of the space heater cord under the seedlings when I unplugged it. Just typing that sentence made my scalp tingle. I remind myself to be vigilant…safer at home.
