Dear Farm Journal,
Henry David Thoreau said, “If the day and night are such that you greet them with joy, and life emits a fragrance like flowers and sweet-scented herbs, is more elastic, more starry, more immortal – that is your success”. Mother Nature unfolds her florid bloom, and I watch for fresh splashes of color around the farmstead. As I’m baking oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, I spy a flash of yellow out the window. Goldfinch? At second glance, I notice a sunny yellow tulip peeking from behind the patch of her fiery red neighbors. Well, I simply must study her more closely. Her soft curves draw me in and I caress her stem. You are a beauty to behold, my dear.
