Dear Farm Journal,
Well, I don’t know if we can officially call these the dog days of summer, but Balio certainly can’t handle much more heat. He’s just not built for this weather. He really thrives in winter, and right now, well… he’s just surviving. He spends the daylight hours searching for shade, a cool place to dig, or (his new personal favorite) an opportunity to come inside the house to lay by the fan. This is coming from a dog who would basically run the opposite direction if you tried to get him to come in during the winter months. He lopes his lanky double coated body around the farmstead until the sun goes down. Only then does he start to exhibit his spunky personality and muster the energy to cause mischief.
