Dear Farm Journal,

Well, I did it. I found a part time job that aligns with my character almost like farming does. I get to be outside, teach the importance of experiencing nature and taking care of our planet, and contribute to a mission I truly believe in. Today was my first day of observation to become a Naturalist Educator at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Rufus and I are huge fans of the KVR. We kayak, hike, and cross country ski around the landscape of this beautiful reserve, and I am so excited to become more involved in their educational programs. Witnessing the pure joy on the kids’ faces today was the ultimate confirmation that I was in the right place. Today, the forest was their classroom, the canoe was their desk, and nature was their teacher. Partnering with the amazing staff and students made my heart happy, and I wish more kids had the opportunity to participate in these incredible programs. I can’t wait to observe again on Tuesday!

~Joy
