It’s organic inspection day at Keewaydin Farms. We shuffle paperwork, seed packets, and soil receipts, putting everything in order. Our daily record keeping has come a long way since we had a visit from this particular inspector two years ago. She had a clear memory of Rufus’s system of record keeping as a bachelor, and was impressed with the improvements. The inspection was a success, an annual reminder of our diligence to the philosophy of organic farming, a celebration of steadfastness and stewardship.
