Chicken Run 2.0 is under construction. The first version Rufus and I constructed was a slapdash undertaking involving double decker T-posts, scrap chicken wire, and a lot of “metal twist ties”. It wasn’t pretty and I’m unclear as to whether it was the fence or the impenetrable wall of weeds that kept the birds contained. The updated design includes wooden beams (milled by Rufus), buried (still reused) chicken wire, and an all around increase in stability and aesthetic. I look over Rufus’s shoulder to see two little chickens have escaped the mini enclosure (insert choice words from farmers). Right away! Chicken Run 2.0 is climbing the priority list.
