Dear Farm Journal,
The first week of the summer CSA is upon us, and boy am I glad the Universe has sent us some extra help. Besides Sandi (our first employee) and Tim (our driver), we will be adding five more members to the Keewaydin team. When we tallied up the 200 shares, I put out an SOS call to my brother, who generously committed to help us for the next 8 weeks on his days off. Today he brought our friend, Amanda, to give us a hand, and we picked and packed at a pretty impressive pace. Tomorrow, Sandi is bringing her sister, Sheri, to help us, and if she’s anything like Sandi, we’re in for a treat! Over the weekend, I spoke to two young ladies interested in a farm internship, and if all goes well, they’ll be joining us before the end of the month! My dad even called this morning to make sure we didn’t need any extra help! My heart has gone from having palpitations of panic to bursting with encouragement and gratitude. It’s truly feeling like a family farm now. All hands on deck!
