Rufus and I feel very fortunate to live in a community which is paving so many innovative pathways forward in the food world and although our plate is full on the farm, it’s important for us to support the community projects we’re passionate about. It’s an honor to be a part of the Kickapoo Valley Forest School Food Security Committee, the school gardens, and the First Annual Community Plant Swap coming up next Saturday, May 15th, at the LaFarge Farmers Market. Back in March, the committee came together at the farm to start seeds and today we transplanted the tomatoes into compostable cups for the upcoming event. We’re so excited to see the Forest School become a public charter school this year! If you want to learn more, check out their website below or come see us next Saturday and grab a tomato plant for your garden.
