My eyelids opened to maximum widening capacity when I caught a glimpse of the asparagus. Holy shit! I mean, I suspected the recent flush of heat and rain would give us a good push of growth, but damn. Maybe it’s just because it’s the first harvest and I seem to get annual amnesia regarding how these little spears are always one stride ahead of the farmer. Time to chase the asparagus. We brought in about 100 pounds on our first picking, a happy surprise for the CSA members this week!
