I count myself lucky to have a partner in life who pulls me away from my computer screen of tasks to lay in the hammock or watch the first thunderstorm of the year. I’d been working at a steady pace since early morning to prepare for the Driftless Curiosity website launch May 4th. Rufus peeked from behind my screen, making me crack a smile through my concentration. “Babe, come outside and watch the first thunderstorm of the year with me”. I couldn’t resist. He put his arms around me at the threshold of our front door and we told each other why we love storms; the sound, the smell, the settling of the dust, and much needed water for our gardens.
