Now that we feel relatively certain of being past the last frost, it’s all hands on deck for outdoor planting. We continue to lay out cardboard and compost, building new beds, as well as revamping old ones. Field B is our task this afternoon, and although there are a few weeds that either worked their way through the cardboard or found themselves floating on a fortunate breeze, they’re nowhere near the hassle as when we were tilling. In fact, the chief menace to Field B is Big B (aka Balio) who’s contributing to some pretty major compaction in the way of “bark trails” (the reckless route he runs in the direction of any random noise) and a twin size bed he made for himself. More fencing is necessary.~Joy
