A simple sun hat soothes the glare of the midday sun. I’ve been a committed minimalist in the farm-wear department during the summer months. My grandmother would call me “scantily clad” donning short shorts, sports bras, and bare feet. Rufus has tried to convince me that long sleeves and sun hats will keep me cooler than the few scraps of clothing I tolerate and I’ve lost count of how many people have told me to put on shoes, but I’ve been obstinate, until this sun hat. I slip it over my plaited hair and it just feels right, and looks pretty cute too. Okay, I’ll accept this harvest hat, but I’m only wearing shoes when it’s absolutely necessary.
