Solo beneath the naked canopy, I recall climbing trees as a child. Long before I strained to impress boys or be the teacher’s pet, I pressed myself up onto branches. Before makeup, before camera phones, before Facebook, I found myself a peaceful perch in the forest. Seemingly too simple to solve any quandary, yet I return and am once again uplifted.
