Do we hike a lot in the winter? Yes. However, when your house is as cold as ours, you might as well bundle up and go outside. Today we met up with a friend and hiked around the Tunnelville State Natural Area. It’s just a short distance from the farm, but far enough to make us feel different; a minor divergence from the late January blahs circulating with the cold air around our home. I stop a moment in gratitude for these permanently protected wild spaces in the Driftless, our ever present escape.
