Dear Farm Journal,
It’s time for all of our tomato investments to start paying off. We’ve put a lot of love and care into our plants this year, and have some gorgeous fruit coming in. Over the last few days, we’ve been spotting a flash of red in the jungle and gravitating toward the ripe round goodness. The heirlooms captivate my attention; the pink and green iridescence of the Cherokee Carbons and the deep violet of the Indigo Apples, almost too charming to eat. Yet the forethought of the flavor sways the will to slice it open, salt the wound, and sink your teeth in. Plants and people are indeed made for each other.
