I awoke with a Christmas morning type of buzz for our first day of work in the sugar bush. I’ve planned two volunteer days to prepare for our first Driftless Curiosity workshop on maple syrup this weekend. When John and Cassie arrived, I’d already had too much coffee (with maple syrup of course) for someone who was already pretty pumped up. Thankfully, we had plenty of heavy lifting to do to disperse some of that excess energy. We gathered materials, set up our outdoor classroom, cleaned tanks, and even tapped some trees. It was a sweet day, indeed and I can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow.
