This week, Rufus and I pack our last CSA boxes of the year. Our season is 34 weeks from start to finish, and we pack shares for 28 of them. We’ve fed more people than ever before through our CSA program, and I know many farmers in the FairShare CSA Coalition experienced a similar uptick in business. It has been extraordinary to witness the shift toward supporting local farmers. Although the circumstances are devastating, perhaps the local food movement has captured enough of an audience to turn the tide toward wider public support. At Keewaydin, we’re grateful to have grown our food community. We couldn’t have done it without you. Members, wholesale customers, partner producers, employees, volunteers, friends, family, and readers, you all made this successful season possible. We thank you from the bottom of our farmer hearts.
