Mullein (Verbascum thapsus), known as “great mullein,” “torch plant,” or “flannel leaf,” produces magnificent basal rosettes of large, lance-shaped leaves covered in dense, soft hairs. The name “mullein” derives from the Latin “mollis,” meaning soft, perfectly describing these remarkably tactile leaves.
