Rufus is working on building a “chicken tractor” for our next batch of meat birds, who are quickly outgrowing their temporary enclosure. “What makes it a tractor?”, I ask Rufus. “Because it moves, you can pull it behind a tractor”. Rufus continues screwing pieces together and I give the back of his head a quizzical look because that still seems like a strange name and explanation for what I’m looking at, but he says he’s using a legit design from Joel Salatin, and I just trust that it will do the job once it’s finished.
